Here are just a few of our events
July 13th, Friday
7 p.m. - Community Church Service - A special service preformed by the pastors of
the Alabama United Methodist Church, Basom United Methodist Church,
Oakfield/Alabama Baptist Church, Presbyterian Church on the Tonawanda
Reservation, St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, and the Tonawanda Reservation
Baptist Church. All the choirs will sing together. Also the Indian Hymn Singers will
preform a song in their native language.
After Church Service - Cake Cutting - Share some punch and birthday cake with us.
July 14th, Saturday
7 a.m. to 10 a.m. - Pancake Breakfast. - Brought to you by the Indian Falls Boy Scouts -
Troop #66. Alabama Fire Dept. Rec. Hall. Adults $5, Children 5-12 $2.50, 4 & under - Free!
11:00 a.m. - Parade - Which will include floats from various churches, organizations
and businesses; highway and fire dept., trucks; your usual parade type stuff! ;-)
12:00 noon - Town Marker dedication ceremony - In honor of the county's
bicentennial next year the county approved the purchase of a historical marker for
every town, including the Tonawanda Indian Reservation. (At the Town Hall)
1:30 p.m. - Judging for the most "timely dressed" contest. - Think old and where
your finest period clothing. Trophy for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
2:00 p.m. - Pembroke Community Band - If you have ever heard them play, you
know how good they are! If you haven't, come and see!
4:00 p.m. - Jason Eckland - Singer & Musican. Country & Bluegrass music.
2 p.m. to 5 p.m. - Town of Alabama Museum will be open. Located in the Alabama
town hall. Take a look at what grant funding has done for us in the area of records
management. Aside from our wonderful collection, we recently had all our minute
books from 1826 - 1968 restored and archivally preserved. One will be on display in
our museum. The minutes are also on microfilm now, and we have a reader
printer too!
8 p.m. to 11 p.m. - Craig Wilkin's and the Western New Yorkers Country Band - country
music and square dancing too!
All Day- FOOD! Arts & Crafts. Demonstrators such as wool spinning, 18th & 19th century
pioneer life. Wildlife Refuge display, NYS Police Helicopter, Genesee Co. Sheriff's
Dept. Horse Patrol, Cow Pie Bingo, and entertainment for young and old alike.
Perchon horse rides & Buffalo Zoomobile. Care Bear and Maxwell Chomper will also
be there for the kids!
July 15th, Sunday
12 noon to ? - Chicken Barbecue - deliciously prepared by the Alabama Fire Dept.
Chicken, roll, macaroni salad, baked beans, drink and dessert. Adults $7.00,
Children (or 1/2 chicken) $3.50. Takeouts available.
All Day - Another day of fun filled family entertainment and events.
